cavanami
1968, when a cluster of nightclubs sprouted up along a small Soi (street) called Patpong, to cater for the influx of US armed forces in the region. In this small area, owned by an entrepreneurial Chinese immigrant family called Patpongpanich, the road quickly became popular with sex-starved soldiers and, by the early 1970s, had spilled over also into Patpong 2, which runs parallel to it. LizardKing
OK - Keeping it "Thai" Made and used by Romans and Greeks over 2000 years ago in almost the same way made and used today in Thailand. Used extensively in Thailand and lesser extent rest of S E Asia. Was copied and used now famously in England, though most have no idea as it is fairly different from the Thai version. Name what it is, and what the English version is. Bonus for how it's made. Fish sauce Worcestershire sauce How made: small fish are placed in wooded boxes with some sea water and allowed to ferment. eyebee
I'm gonna answer two questions here: "You don't wanna see me when I'm angry" - The Incredible Hulk. And the Thai and English thing - Red Bull, Torro Rosso, Krating Daeng, Lipo etc.

TroyinEwa/Perv
Wrong on the Hulk but it's your question. It was said by Dr. David Banner played by Bill Bixby. He hadn't turned into the Hulk yet when he said it. Carryon......this thread's out of control.

What has that got to do with the question? BTW I wouldn't call anything on Patpong back then a nightclub. Nor where there many "sex-starved soldiers" in Thailand. Thailand was paradise for the US Air Farce. What Army was in Bangkok got their jollies at the Saphan Kwai bars. The airmen got their rocks off wherever they were ... Khorat, Udorn, Ubon, Takhli. The Navy (and maybe a few Marines) were at Sattahip. I remember very few bars on Patpong in the early 1970s. The GI section - both for R&R guys and locals - was mainly on New Phetburi Road, not Patpong. (Photo pilfered from Mit!)

LizardKing
Related to Troy's new thread, a) name the character pair that Sesame Street stole from a famous Hollywood picture. What were the the two best mate's occupations in the original film? c) what was the name of the two towns that were the main subjects of the movie?
