Who are you, and what have you done with Sparky?

Oh the humanity! Please bring back our favorite fire truck dog. He's housebroken and doesn't smell like cabbage kimchi.

Please return Sparky to our fair board.

Bringing this old Seoul thread back to life, as I will be off for a journey there in a few weeks. A few quick questions - any help would be most appreciated:

(1) Has anyone stayed at either the Seoul Hilton or the Sofitel Ambassador? (2) Any idea if one could walk from the Ambassador to Itaewon? I guess that walking is unlikely from the Hilton.

(3) Any other hotel recs? I am leaning toward one of the above two for my reservation, but I am told the Capital, the Hamilton, and the Crown are near the scene. Anyone have any experiences in those places?

(4) Any board members living in Seoul? If so, pls email me private - drinks are on me!

Thanks a bundle - time to visit the Seoul Sisters!

Last time in Seoul was 1996. The Hamilton was clean and fairly comfortable. It's gone semi-respectable but was still guest friendly at that point. It's very convenient to the Itaewon bar district (across the street). The Crown is several blocks away.

Stayed several times at the Seoul Grand Hilton (formerly Swiss Grand Hotel). It's about 20 minutes by taxi from Itaewon district. Hotel is comfortable and guest friendly. Always stay there when going to Korea with my Thai GF.
