Thanks for the update, Stick, I was wondering what would happen.

 

Some of the things that happen in this world simply astonish me.

 

Short summary for the lazy: Porn producer (Thaigirlswild, etc.) busted in Pattaya with drugs, and gun and accused of lying to get girls to do the dirty work among other things. Fast forward, now he's released and the original news stories posted in the Pattaya media have suddenly disappeared.

 

The Pattaya media sure seem--well, tainted to put it extremely kindly.

I found the second part of Sticks report most interesting. How the guy's public record got cleaned and that he is now working for the authorities...

Of course the media in Pattaya is a disgrace. What does anyone expect? There's something paradoxical about moralizing about the place. And I imagine a lot of people think this guy is very cool indeed. Money, sex, guns. He's living the life.

 

Good for Stick for writing about it.

Probably not, unless the guy gets pissed off. He sounds like the sort that's not above a bit of violence. He's already got the cops on his side. Stick might do well to stay away from Pattaya for a while.

I think he is and that he's aware he is. Here's a quote from the end of this week's Stickman weekly (hope that's ok):

 

At the end of last year I said that this year the column would become more edgy. There were a few edgy columns but then things became a little bland again. Hopefully this week's opener, and the opening piece for the next two weeks will bring that edginess I promised.

 

It seems to me that he has access to quite a bit of information, and is saying he's ready to walk the line in an effort to get some of the more interesting stuff out there. What his motivation for that is, I don't know, but I wish him skill and luck to avoid repercussions while still giving us insight into the way things work around here.

Filming yourself having sex always seemed to me about us unerotic as it gets. But whatever on that point.

 

I remember sitting in AngelWitch in Pattaya, and another American guy sits next to me and buys a couple rounds, asks some odd questions, then leaves.

 

The girl he was talking to was beaming and slid over after he left. She then told me he gave her 2k tip for sitting with him an hour. Really? Oh, and he wanted to know where to get 'ice.'

 

The guy in the article definitely is creepy. Shut him down.

 

One thing I see all the time in these Western pieces though and don't agree with - at all - is the portrayal of the Thai women involved as simpletons. Naive, helpless, unsophisticated farm girls who can't think for themselves. Don't buy that. The tragedy is the fact that law is trumped by money and leaves them exposed.
