...like Walmart is going to take the hit...think not!!

Walmart $15.6 billion in profits (net).

So from what I gatther, some bellieve that the taxpayer should take the hit - subsidize the working poor with taxpayer funds and not Walmart and other corporations that make huge profits?

Makes my heart warm that so many believe that it is role of the government for this.

Big mess...example...you worked in a steel mill, good job, good money.

Then the import steel causes the mill to close.

You have special skills for steel making, which are no longer in demand.

You try to get some type of retraining, but the list is long and few jobs available.

You end up at a low paying job at Walmart, happy to have it as long ago, your

unemployment benefits ran out as well as the medical insurance.

Welcome to the new USA...

"California taxpayers are spending $86 million a year providing healthcare and other public assistance to the state’s 44,000 Wal-Mart employees, according to a new study by UC Berkeley’s Institute for Industrial Relations."

The proposed $15.00 per hour minimum wage would put a large dent in that $86 million dollar taxpayer funded subsidy.

They have a union at Walmart?

Maybe the union can put the arm on Walmart? may be not?

Would be nice to see US companies paying wages that families can actually live on, buy a car on,

buy a house on...like it was 30+ years ago?

Welcome to NAFTA and all the other US gov policies that ran the good, real jobs out of America! bastards!!

Geithner to join private equity firm

http://news.yahoo.com/geithner-join-private-equity-firm-153518332--finance.html

Former U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner, who played a central role in the government's response to the financial crisis of 2008-2009, is joining private equity firm Warburg Pincus LLC.

The firm announced Saturday that Geithner will serve as its president and managing director starting March 1.

Geithner led the Federal Reserve Bank of New York for more than five years before becoming Treasury secretary in 2009, when the economy had sunk into a deep recession.

Few Treasury secretaries received as much scrutiny. Supporters credited Geithner with helping prevent the recession from spiraling into a second Great Depression by stabilizing the banking system and restoring investor confidence. Critics said he was too cozy with Wall Street...

TSA...money for nothing...gotta let big gov keep wasting $$$

Researcher Makes Bombs, Guns Using Airport Gift Shop Items

http://www.infowars.com/researcher-makes-weapon-arsenal-using-everyday-items-found-beyond-tsa-checkpoints/

A resourceful researcher has successfully demonstrated how easy it is for anyone to build an arsenal of weapons solely using items found beyond TSA airport checkpoints, proving once again how the bloated federal agency charged with “protecting travelers†is conducting little more than security theater at taxpayer expense.

Security researcher Evan Booth set out this year to answer one question: “Can common items sold in airports after the security screening be used to build lethal weapons?â€

“As it turns out, even a marginally ‘MacGyver-esque’ attacker can breeze through terminal gift shops, restaurants, magazine stands and duty-free shops to find everything needed to wage war on an airplane. Just how easy is it to build these weapons?†Booth’s site TerminalCornucopia.com asks.

Booth’s research proves the answer is that it’s rather easy.

Exploiting gift shop souvenirs and other random objects, Booth spectacularly demonstrates how determined attackers armed with nothing but knowledge can assemble blowguns, firearms and even incendiary devices using common objects regularly found after TSA screening checkpoints.

One improvised explosive device, nicknamed the FRAGGuccino, for instance, is assembled using a stainless steel coffee mug, a double AA battery, a condom and Axe Body Spray, among other materials. As Booth shows, the grenade’s explosion would be enough to cause someone serious bodily injury.

Fake Employment Numbers – And 5 More Massive Economic Lies The Government Is Telling You

http://theeconomiccollapseblog.com/archives/fake-employment-numbers-and-5-more-massive-economic-lies-the-government-is-telling-you

According to a whistleblower that has recently come forward, Census employees have been faking and manipulating U.S. employment numbers for years. In fact, it is being alleged that this manipulation was a significant reason for why the official unemployment rate dipped sharply just before the last presidential election. What you are about to read is incredibly disturbing. The numbers that the American people depend upon to make important decisions are being faked.

But should we be surprised by this? After all, Barack Obama has been caught telling dozens of major lies over the past five years. At this point it is incredible that there are any Americans that still trust anything that comes out of his mouth. And of course it is not just Obama that has been lying to us. Corruption and deception are rampant throughout the entire federal government, and this has been the case for years. Now that some light is being shed on this, hopefully the American people will respond with overwhelming outrage and disgust.

The whistleblower that I mentioned above has been speaking to John Crudele of the New York Post. In his new article entitled “Census ‘faked’ 2012 election jobs report“, he says that the huge decline in the unemployment rate in September 2012 was “manipulatedâ€â€¦

Well, under scrutiny, not quite accurate.

"CNBC's Steve Liesman reports that the alleged "employee who did it," Julius Buckmon, has not worked at Census since August 2011. It's highly unlikely Buckmon threw the 2012 election from his couch."

Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich is Racist, Says Portland School Official

Did you know that eating or even talking about a peanut butter and jelly sandwich could be considered racist?

That’s right.

Apparently, it’s because people in some cultures don’t eat sandwich bread. Verenice Gutierrez, principal of Harvey Scott K-8 School in Portland explained in and interview with the Portland Tribune:

“Take the peanut butter sandwich, a seemingly innocent example a teacher used in a lesson last school year,†the Tribune said.

“What about Somali or Hispanic students, who might not eat sandwiches?†Gutierrez asked. “Another way would be to say: ‘Americans eat peanut butter and jelly, do you have anything like that?’ Let them tell you. Maybe they eat torta. Or pita.â€

…The Tribune noted that the school started the new year with “intensive staff trainings, frequent staff meetings, classroom observations and other initiatives,†to help educators understand their own “white privilege,†in order to “change their teaching practices to boost minority students’ performance.â€

"Last Wednesday, the first day of the school year for staff, for example, the first item of business for teachers at Scott School was to have a Courageous Conversation — to examine a news article and discuss the ‘white privilege’ it conveys,†the Tribune added.

Gutierrez completed a week-long seminar called “Coaching for Educational Equity,†a program the Tribune says focuses “on race and how it affects life.†She also serves on an administrative committee that focuses on systematic racism.

“Our focus school and our Superintendent’s mandate that we improve education for students of color, particularly Black and Brown boys, will provide us with many opportunities to use the protocols of Courageous Conversations in data teams, team meetings, staff meetings, and conversations amongst one another,†she said in a letter to staff.

Next time you’re in the bread aisle at the grocery store, you may want to think twice. Sensitive liberal educators are now recommending the “torta†or the “pita†as a more culturally inclusive alternative.

Now that you’ve been made aware of the evil of PB&J, there’s only one question left to answer: Is white bread more racist than whole wheat?
