khunsanuk Posted April 19, 2002 Report Share Posted April 19, 2002 Hi, It seems that in Thailand young kids often stay up very late, I mean 4 years old watching soaps until 10pm for instance. Coming from a Western country where most young kids would be in bed by 7-8pm, I find this rather strange. Not certain if this is just happening in the countryside, or in the big cities as well. Guest Posted April 20, 2002 Report Share Posted April 20, 2002 Yeah, the Thai kiddies sure do play by different rules. I was visiting my wife's friends one day when I was living in BKK. The family's 4-year old kid grabbed a small shot of whiskey and chugged it down. I was kind of shocked and asked my wife "Jeezus, did you see THAT?" She said something in Thai to the kid's mother and told me "they let him have a whiskey once in awhile. He (the little boy) says that milk makes him puke." ....amazing Thailand!
