So.... if a man pulls a knife out and puts it to another person's throat because the man with the knife wants to fark you, I would say it might be okay to kill the bugger. But why steal his notebook, watch, etc? Sounds more like robbery then self protection.

I find it hard to believe the 'President of the World Croquet Federation' would even have a knife, let alone try to force a young strapping healthy man into a sexual encounter. I mean, how hard is it to get consensual gay sex here in the LOS anyway? And to then rob the man after slicing his throat? C'mon. My bullshit detector is going off with three alarms. Sounds more like the murderer pretended to want sex with the guy, then killed and robbed him once they were 'alone'. Probably wanted his 'distinctive gold watch' and thought he was loaded with cash. Not finding much cash he takes what he can of value. JMHO and take on it.
