Coss Posted August 31, 2011 Report Share Posted August 31, 2011 link Two Australian men have been arrested for getting drunk in a 20-metre-deep sink hole and refusing to come out. Police said the men carried a carton of beer into the sink hole in Mount Gambier, a South Australian town near the Victorian border, and were too drunk to climb out. Emergency Service crews spent almost four hours trying to remove the men yesterday afternoon. The pair, aged 22 and 23, refused to climb out of the hole and became abusive towards police and the crowd that had gathered. When the men, who had recently moved to the town from Western Australia, were persuaded to climb out, the younger man fell and injured himself. Both men were arrested and charged with disorderly behaviour. They have both been bailed to appear in the Mt Gambier Court at a later date. _________ Wot? not allowed to get drunk in a hole now? (coss, I think the issue here is that they wasted Emergency Services time and public money in the rescue effort, not that they got drunk in a hole ...)
