Coss
Wouldn't they be better to block the airport that Yingy is gonna fly out from, with lots and lots of very heavy suitcases?
Flashermac
Michael Yon Suthep: Brilliant chess move today His Operation Catch Poo obviously was not intended to truly capture Yingluck. But what it did do was pull out tens of thousands of supporters, and maybe a 150 journalists (or more). It garnered stories about Yingluck on the run -- which she is, and reveals that myriad opposition groups like PDRC, Buddha Issara, KPT,and Dhamma Army, have seized the political initiative, leaving Yingluck in a reactive, defensive posture. It is also clear that she will not seize the Government House by midnight tonight, or without great bloodshed. Yesterday KPT proved that armed police will be met with armed, determined resistance, who yesterday counterattacked and scattered armed police. Morale is high at KPT, PDRC, and Buddha Issara obviously is not intimidated. Dhamma Army is strong and still there peacefully resisting, though seldom in the news. I do know as of this afternoon that one group of farmers (from Issan) collapsed and went home due to the danger, but other farmers are piling in. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10151976506335665
Flashermac
"Dhamma Army, PDRC, and Buddha Issara are following paths of non-violence. The farmers remain a wildcard. KPT will go to guns against the police. Even so, KPT are not wild-eyed radicals. They are tired of the status quo and will not be pushed around." -- Michael Yon

Flashermac
1,000 farm tractors, 15,000 farmers head to Bangkok A long convoy of rice farmers from four central provinces is heading to Bangkok to demand for unpaid subsidy for pledged rice. As of 6 pm, they had reached Ayutthaya and are expected to enter Bangkok Friday. The total number is estimated at 15,000, who are travelling on 1,000 tractors and improvised farm vehicles. Former Chat Thai Pattana Party MP Chada Thaiset, who represents Uthai Thani-based farmers, said that some of the farmers would be heading to Suvarnabhumi airport, on purposes he did not specify. A leader of Lop Buri-based farmers, Ubolsak Bualuangngarm, said farmers would blockade the capital for seven days if the government failed to pay them, but would not cooperate with anti-government movement People’s Democratic Reform Committee in its drive to oust the government. He also asked capital residents to stockpile food supplies for seven days before then. "If the goverment wants to disperse farmers’ protests or arrest us. All of us are ready to die, and donate our bodies, if the government wants to do anything to farmers," he said, adding that the farmers travelling with this convoy would be joined by those travelling from the Northeast and the West who are expected to reach Bangkok tomorrow. http://www.nationmul...k-30227355.html
Flashermac
Administrative Court accepts farmer's petition against Commerce Ministry The Central Administrative Court Thursday accepted for judicial review a petition filed by a farmer against the Commerce Ministry. Lamyai Srithong on January 30 filed her petition with the court, asking for damages from the ministry for its failure to pay money for the rice she sold under the government's pricepledging scheme. She had obtained a receipt of deposit for the rice pledged with the scheme but later the Bank for Agriculture and Agricultural Cooperatives (BAAC) refused to cash her receipt of deposit. In the petition, codefendants are the Finance Ministry, the Budget Bureau, the National Economic and Social Development Board, and the BAAC. The court gave the defendants 30 days to submit their statements and their lists of witnesses and documents. http://www.nationmultimedia.com/breakingnews/Administrative-Court-accepts-farmers-petition-agai-30227358.html
