WorldFun
any bets on that being a 'target' actually means flight disruptions or not? apparently the plan is to occupy bkk/airport for a week or so unless being paid which is sorta impossible given there is no money to pay with unless the PM suddenly chip in from her 30 red suitcases already prepared for swift departure (at an alternative airport)? bust
Personally I just don't think it will be allowed to happen. Sadly though I can see blood being spilt to prevent it.
waerth
Yes it seems the farmers are believing in another promise that they will be paid. Looks like the govt is going for divide and conquer. Pay the vocal ones and let them intimidate the rest.

waerth
Well this group of farmers was led by a former politician from a party that is in the Yingluck government. So it might all have been a show.
radioman
The BP article suggested he was an MP from CTP party representing Uthai Thani but that in the recent election he was beaten by the PT candidate. Huh and there was me thinking no results were published yet. Weird too he must have been a bad boy for the people there to have chosen the PT rabble over anything else. A political observer said the farmer movement in Uthai Thani province was encouraged to travel to Bangkok by Chada Thaiset, a former Chartthaipattana Party MP for Uthai Thani. The source said that Mr.Chada was unhappy with the Pheu Thai Party which fielded a candidate in his constituency in the general election, causing his defeat in the poll.
