waerth
Someone is definitely trying to provoke the army here. Yesterday attacking an army checkpoint, today attacking an army base http://www.nationmultimedia.com/breakingnews/Grenades-hit-1st-Anti-aircraft-Artillery-Regiment--30230206.html Grenade attack has been reported at the 1st Anti-aircraft Artillery Regiment near Chaeng Wattana rally site before 11pm Wednesday night. No injury has been reported. One of the grenades fell at the regiment's car park and the other one hit a building.
Specialist
That's not smart. Soldiers tend to take a REALLY dim view of people shooting at them.
waerth
Well the reds have been provoling the army for a long time now as they want the army to come out guns blazing. This so they can claim to be the victim :/
cavanami
...or the protesters are provoking the Army to bring down the present gov ...or the Red Shirts want the Army to take action and run off the protesters...can cut it either way.... Coss
I reckon there are men in black, employed by both sides. The civic maturity of the Thai people is sorely lacking. Just because Suthep seems to have launched a "Thai Spring" doesn't mean that he and his, are not Thai.
Flashermac
Look at the situation 3 years ago. Suthep as Deputy PM sent the army to disperse the red shirts gathered at Democracy Monument. They were attacked by "men in black" who killed the colonel of the Queen's Guard Battalion in a grenade attack and opened fire on the soldiers with M16s. It is all on video tape and was even shown on the BBC. The red shirts are themselves seen attacking the soldiers with Molotov cocktails, and the soldiers (sent in without more than rubber bullets) and taking cover wherever they can. This is straight out of Mao. Provoke your opponents into over-reacting, so that you can claim to be the victim. That is precisely what the red shirts did back then. When the army was later sent to break up the red shirts' camp after their leaders rejected Abhisit's offer of elections, the soldiers were pissed off and carried live ammunition. Some of them undoubtedly shot when they should not have. (I've seen GIs do it under similar circumstances.) As a result, PT brought murders charges against Abhisit and Suthep sending the army in. Jatuporn recently spoke to a cheering red shirt gathering about how the army had "attacked" the peaceful red shirts and Kok Wua and killed so many of them. In fact, it was the other way around. Someone is trying to do the same thing again.
