waerth
This is the first sensible proposal from the Shin side http://www.nationmultimedia.com/breakingnews/Thaksins-son-proposes-election-of-interim-PM-to-ca-30230584.html Pantongtae Shinawatra, the son of former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra, Tuesday proposed an election of an interim prime minister to carry out reforms of the country. He offered the condition in a message posted on his Facebook wall as a compromise with Suthep Thaugsuban, the secretary general of the People's Democratic Reform Committee. Pantongtae said most people would definitely not accept the choice of interim prime minister proposed by Suthep. "We should have a process to elect a prime minister to work for a short period of time during the reforms. When the reforms are done, he will hold an election and the Democrat could contest the poll so tha the country could move forward," Pantongtae said. Flashermac
So an election will result in a "neutral" PM. Uh-huh, sure it will.
khunsanuk
Hi, Get both parties to provide 10 candidates, let their opponents remove any they don't like. Repeat until you have at least a couple of candidates left, then let the general public vote. Sanuk!
Flashermac
The fact that Junior is talking, as are some others in PT, suggests that they are finally concluding their opposition is strong enough that they will have to compromise. Suthep may not be strong enough to oust the government, but he has enough support to keep things tied up until they do reach a compromise. PT had been claiming that Suthep's support was dring up. Last Saturday's march proed that it clearly is not true.
