Former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra rejected the proposal by Army chief Gen Prayuth Chan-ocha that the Pheu Thai-led caretaker government resign, a Pheu Thai source said on Thursday.

The source said Prayuth came up with three proposals during the seven-partite meeting on Wednesday. First, he proposed that a caretaker Cabinet to resign, secondly that an interim government be formed and thirdly, that both the red-shirt movement and the People's Democratic Reform Committee end their rallies, according to the source.

The Pheu Thai representatives duly informed Thaksin of the proposals but he rejected them all and told Pheu Thai to fight to the full extent possible within the legal framework.

Hi,

Exactly! Why is Thaksin's approval required?

He will not be satisfied until he is allowed to come back to Thailand, get all his money back and become president for life. And it doesn't matter how many people have to die to get there.

Sanuk!

Because this whole shit slapping square dance, is because a run away criminal fugitive is still exercising control over a government and a country.

Even though he periodically says he isn't and has left politics.

Despite his obvious irrelevance, he seems to have enough support to f**k the country.

And the Thai nation can't, f**k him back it seems.

Have you folks forgotten the 2010 red shirt take over of downtown Bangkok, when Abhisit's government finally offered to call elections if the red shirts would go home? Everyone sighed with relief, thinking that it would all end peacefully. Then Takky made a phone call and rejected the offer, since there was nothing in it for him. Abhie and Suthep had enough and told the army to break up the protest camp. The men in black shot at the soldiers, the soldiers got angry and shot at protesters, and it ended up with many dead and Central World being torched. But Takky didn't care. He was safely far away, despite promising to return and lead "his people" in battle.
