unit731
Where did all of the rockets come from? How did they enter area? Who paid for these rockets? "WASHINGTON — Despite three weeks of relentless attacks by Israeli forces to destroy Hamas' arsenal of weapons, militants in Gaza may still have nearly 5,000 rockets, enough to keep firing at Israeli cities for weeks. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said Hamas started the conflict on July 8 with about 10,000 rockets. Since then, the militants have fired more than 2,600 rockets and mortars toward Israel and Israeli forces have destroyed about 3,000, estimated Lt. Col. Peter Lerner, IDF's spokesman." Flashermac
Homemade - many of them. << More generally, all types of Palestinian rockets fired into southern Israel, for example the Palestinian Islamic Jihad Al Quds rockets, are called Qassams by the Israeli media, and often by foreign media. The Qassam gained notoriety as the best-known type of rocket deployed by Palestinian militants mainly against Israeli civilians, but also some military targets during the Second Intifada of the Israeli–Palestinian conflict. Since 2000, Palestinian rockets, which include the Qassam, alongside others such as the Grad rocket, have been used to kill 22 Israeli citizens and one Thai national (as of January 9, 2009). These rockets cannot be fired precisely to target specific military objectives in or near civilian areas. Human Rights Watch issued an analysis, stating, that "such weapons are therefore indiscriminate when used against targets in population centers. The absence of Israeli military forces in the areas where rockets hit, as well as statements by leaders of Palestinian armed groups that population centers were being targeted, indicate that the armed groups deliberately attacked Israeli civilians and civilian objects." The international community considers indiscriminate attacks on civilians and civilian structures that do not discriminate between civilians and military targets as illegal under international law. >> http://en.wikipedia....i/Qassam_rocket Ironic that the world is going mad over the civilian casualties Israel is inflicting in Gaza, when Hamas admittedly deliberately targets civilians. King Kung
Ironic that the world is going mad over the civilian casualties Israel is inflicting in Gaza, when Hamas admittedly deliberately targets civilians. Liberal western media is not "the world." Why anybody still gives a rat's about the two dysfunctional neighbors is a mystery to me. You could have completely tuned out 40 years ago and if you tuned in again today, you wouldn't have missed a single thing. This has gone on longer than the Cold War.Tiresome. You're right that many ignore the fact Hamas deliberately targets civilians. I've noticed a recent uptick in European disdain for Jews in general and Israel in particular. They have a history, you know.
Specialist
What nobody seems to understand is that it is easy and cheap these days to build missile guidance kits. If the Big Bad Boys (Iran, Syria, ...) wanted Hamas to be using guided missiles for those attacks, instead of unguided rockets, they'd have them. This has implications.

King Kung
It takes Israel's precision weapons to hit UN schools. Why would Israel waste expensive precision munitions on non-productive targets? Everyone knows djoos are tighter than a fat broad's bikini. Your rhetoric on this topic is hollow.
