Bangladesh took in a bunch of Rohingyas, mainly I believe after some late eighties/early nineties stuff, but has treated them like shit in the refugee camps since then. There are some who are officially registered, but many others are living in the area around the camps but aren't allowed to register and have no access to international assistance. How do you know that life truly fucking sucks? When you flee to Bangladesh because it's better than what you've got.

Fact: Bengali government denied its own people. Burmese government accept them and gave them citizenship and equal rights. ( Under the Law ) However, more and more Bengali Rohingya illegally enter to Myanmar every year. They are rude and aggressive. They don’t respect native Rakhine and bullied Rakhine people. Then, they pretend to be like poor and nice guys. Why did Burmese government have to accept these kind of rude hypocrite terrorists? Burmese government already gave out a lot of citizenship to these so-called Rohingya and they are equal under the law. Nevertheless, government cannot accept any more illegal immigrants since they don't do any good for Myanmar. Myth 8 : Burmese hate Rohingya so much because they are Muslim. Fact : There are plenty of Muslim people in Burma. Burmese people treat with respect to those people who are not rude, aggressive and murderers. Burmese people treat with respect to those Rohingya who entered Burma legally, and who are not murderers. Short and Sweet: Rohingya are Bengali who illegally entered Myanmar and killed thousands of native Rakhine people. Government gave citizenship and equal rights to thousands of Rohingya. They built hundreds of mosques and thousands of houses in Rakhine State. Their population extremely increases every year due to illegal immigrant Rohingyas. There are vast areas of common ground between the Ku Klux Klan and the Burmese view of the Rohingya... Like so many countries where oppressive regimes were able to repress community-based antipathies through the forced acceptance of a unifying worldview, once that regime begins to falter and the long suppressed tensions begin to be aired in the open, shit goes to hell (post-Soviet... post-Saddam... Syria right now). Again and again, we see that when people who have long had their voice silenced finally get a chance to speak, they all have the same thing to say to their neighbor, and that is: "Fuck you, motherfuckers!" For Buddhist-dominated Myanmar, what better target than the uneducated, dark-skinned, Muslim Rohingya... and hell, for that matter - apply it to all the Muslims, because for a Buddhist-oriented state, all others are immigrants, impure, interlopers out to rape the daughters and sodomize the sons...

 

Rohingyas are no threat to Myanmar - they are a manufactured pariah useful as a perceived collective enemy, something to be manipulated by the Buddhist power-players (see above screed). It's a minute minority living in a shitty under the ball-sac of Myanmar, in slave-like conditions. Yes, they will eventually align with AQ and who knows who else, out of total desperation, and because oppressed ignorant people will look for comfort and support anywhere they can find it, and fundamentalist Islam offers some vision of the world that is better than just being eventually eliminated by the Myanmar state. In all their years, the Rohingya have been unable to mount jack-shit of insurgency in Myanmar, and Myanmar was for years a place where any grandma with a rifle and a mission statement could form her own army -the Rohingyas are a mess, useless now, helpless - valuable only a dog to be kicked, a dark-skinned boogeyman coming after the virtue of chaste Buddhist virgins...

Coss I think they were probably her own thoughts. She is rather political. Not saying she is right or wrong in her views. Just thought it was interesting to hear from a National and not a foreign "opinion" like what is mostly out there.

Despite my often stated - 'round 'em up and shoot'em' attitudes, my real stance, is that, what appear to be unfortunates, even medieval muslims, deserve to be treated with humanity. Even folk I really, really, don't like.

 

And in my view, you are just as well informed as anyone here
