I call BS. Earlier an Aussie who looked sort of like the bomber in the CCTV had been "identified". Now it's a Yank? At least the Aussie looks more like the killer.

The bombers could well be working for someone else. Hired killings are the norm in LOS. The race or ethnicity of the backpacker bunghole may be irrelevant.

There has been a lot of speculation as to the motive for the bombings, some far fetched.

 

I would think that the PM will have a full court press on this one! no stone unturned!!

 

They will need some clear answers and none of the hokey-pokey that has gone on before...

The tourism economy is clearly the target, but so is demonstrating that the current government is incapable of preventing the attacks. The motivation is very clear. What isn't is who is bloodthirsty enough to do such a thing.

Thai police said on Wednesday that the chief suspect who is being hunted in Bangkok shrine bomb blast that killed 22 people, a man who was captured on closed-circuit television (CCTV) dumping a backpack and walking away, did not act alone.

 

"He didn't do it alone for sure," national chief of police Somyot Poompanmoung told the press, referring to the man in a yellow T-shirt in a grainy video that has gone viral on social media. "It's a network."

 

The government said Monday evening's attack at the popular Erawan shrine in the heart of Bangkok was aimed at wrecking the economy, which depends heavily on tourism.

 

No one has claimed responsibility for the blast, which killed 22 — nearly half of them tourists — and wounded more than 120.

 

New Way Travel, a Bangkok-based agency that caters to Hong Kong tourists, told The Associated Press on Tuesday that all tour groups scheduled to arrive from Hong Kong in coming days had canceled their trips.
