Stickman
It's a lovely town and I particularly like the river-front road and promenade. It's in the Isaan region but it doesn't feel like Isaan. The small town actually felt quite prosperous to me (unlike a lot of smaller towns in the region). I made two visits there and found it rally relaxing. It's pretty in a similar way to downtown Nongkhai, but less harried, fewer people and less going on. 50 km south of the provincial capital is Pra That Phanom, a magnificent temple that can wow even those who feel that when it comes to temples they have seen them all.

My Penis is hungry
Chen Khan is lovely, very well set up, I love the hotel where you can stay in a VW Kombi. Nakon Phanom has been a fav too, close to Ho Chi Minh's Thai home. We often drive along the Mekon, either left to Chen Khan, or right which gets us eventually to Mukdahan, also a lovely town.
