steffi
I've have witnessed before that if the stamp in my passport is 15th of December and I leave on the 16th that the immigration folks at the airport will record me as having stayed one day but if you stay one day over you are not charged 200 baht. This probably to avoid the issue of flights after midnight after the day your passport was stamped for. However, if you stay an extra day on top of this day do they hit you up for only one day or two days? My wife at the airport said that a passenger was recently hit up for two days when he left one day after the day his visa expired. ie. one day after the date stamped in his passport. Can somebody clarify for me exactly how this work because I don't want to money sucking so and so's to get my extra money just because I don't know the rules. racha
You were lucky it can happen if you get an immigration officer in a good mood, same for a one day overstay you can also be made to pay as well, one day over is officially a 200 baht fine, it depends on the immigration officers discretion basically,
Straycat
[color:"red"]The rule is 1 day no pay, 2 days pay 2 days. [/color] Yes. This 'rule' is also clearly stated on a big board sign at the Don Muang airport immigrations 'overstay' office. No room for confusion and it's a quick and painless affair. vinod
Read the experiences of one of the Board Memebers in the nightlife under the Grace Coffee Shop, I'm sure you would not like to overstay even one day after reading his exp. vinod
steffi
So I'm confused a little here. One day over you don't pay a day but for two days over do you pay for two days or only one?
