Coronavirus hits Capitol Hill as 2 GOP lawmakers ‘self-quarantine’

https://edition.cnn.com/2020/03/09/politics/coronavirus-donald-trump-health-politics/index.html

Karma bites back like a bitch.  A coronavirus attendee at the CPAC conference (the place where Republicans huddle together to dream up how next to fuck the public), personally met with Trump, Pence, Cruz, et alia.  Lots of handshaking going on.  Absolutely brilliant news.

He's got Pence on it.  A person responsible for a HIV epidemic in his own State because he wouldn't allow a needle exchange.  A man that doesn't believe in science.  Or even that the world is older than 6000 years, and thinks dinosaur fossils were put there to test his faith in God.  A man that calls his wife mother.

Of course it was palmed off to Pence because Trump had already fucked it up, and Pence is a suitable fall guy - the person to take the blame when inevitably the shit hits the fan.

On Science:  related information on the Iran Covid-19 outbreak, the Iran government has lost two senior members, to the virus and has something like 5,000 soldiers "ready to help" with the containment efforts.

My quip :: I wonder if they'll use the religion bullets or the science bullets?

This following, though humorous, demonstrates why the religious folk and the political folk, should not be in charge of running things like countries, or health, or education, or...

I note that Trump's appearances in public are increasingly with red hat jammed down over hair (no time nor inclination to coiff) and with wild staring eyes peering out from the shadow afforded by such.

This is where true leadership is needed and why you need to elect the right person. When things are going well, anyone can run the country. A leader gets into the history books in a positive or negative way on how they handle the big events. Hoover on how he handled The Great Depression, JFK and the Cuba Missile crisis, Bush and Afghanistan, Chcocolat Steve and being caught with a short time and his Thai GF is knocking at the door.

Events bring out the character.

So Donald Trump flat out admitted on Twitter that he was meeting with New York Governor Andrew Cuomo today, in an attempt at forcing the state to back off its pursuit of him in his various criminal scandals. As the day went on, multiple major media outlets reported that Trump offered to let New York remain in the Global Entry program if it dropped its legal cases against him.

Not only is this an outrage, it’s a felony. It’s precisely the kind of quid pro quo that Mad King Donald the Malevolent attempted in his Ukraine scandal. This kind of corrupt behavior is nothing new from Trump, but he’s no longer trying to even give himself any cover or deniability. Of course Trump is as stupid and clueless about these things as ever, because he was ringing the wrong bell.

New York Attorney General Tish James tweeted this in response:

That’s right, because Donald Trump doesn’t bother to do his homework, he doesn’t even know that the New York Attorney General is elected independently of the Governor, and that she’s not in any way under the Governor’s influence when it comes to these kinds of legal pursuits.

Trump is also surely worried about the widely documented New York grand jury that’s spent the past several months targeting him for indictment on state level charges. This grand jury has subpoenaed Trump’s financial records and is a confirmed plaintiff in the court battles over those records. Trump will be indicted in New York at some point, and if he loses in November, he will be arrested and placed on criminal trial. No wonder he’s panicked about what the state is doing to him.

The White House and national health agencies have reportedly grown distrustful of one another over the mixed messaging on coronavirus.

While Trump has called his administration’s response a “perfectly coordinated and fine tuned plan,” the top infectious disease doctor at the National Institutes of Health and Surgeon General told the public to be prepared for more cases and deaths, warning the elderly and medically vulnerable to avoid large crowds and long trips or cruises.

Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar also said the Trump administration considers the coronavirus “a very serious public health threat” and that “Nobody is trying to minimize this.”

Six minutes later, Trump downplayed the severity of coronavirus, comparing it to the “common Flu,” tweeting: “Think about that!”

Meanwhile, during a tour at the CDC, Trump mused that he had a “natural ability” to understand the coronavirus outbreak, saying “People are really surprised I understand this stuff. Every one of these doctors said, ‘How do you know so much about this?’”

Whenever I see Pence standing obediently behind his master I am thinking of my dachshunds showing a lot more dignity even in moments of sins. What a bunch of ambassadors of misery has invaded the White House.

Meadows statement said. “This President and his administration have a long list of incredible victories they’ve delivered to the country during this first term, with the best yet to come—and I look forward to helping build on that success and staying in the fight for the forgotten men and women of America.”

Obviously suffering from something very serious, hence qualified to work in the White House. Where does Trump find all these idiots?
