Few people know just how badly aboriginals treated and families systematically separated with little hope of re-union. Even today Australians complain aboriginals get too much. Few people overseas understand that Australia has been in many places worse than the USA, If you want to know just how severe Australia can be, then look no further than the story of Peter Norman, who was on the podium with Smith and Carlos for the Black Power salute. Few people know of his part in the event, and how he supported Carlo and Smith. He was banned from the Australian team for Munich, even though his time would have won gold, even though he ran 6 times meeting the speed needed to qualify. Australia "forgot" to invite him to the Sydney Olympics, where his time in 1968, would have won gold even in 2000! What a runner, who because he supported quietly two Black Power USA advocates was shunned forever. Australia continues today to be a shameful racist country.

Sadly not, was here for work only then I broke away to visit Cowboy Friday, then worked Saturday/night biz dinner, left Sunday. Happy though I booked a suite as I had three of the family staying with me.

To be fair, a lot of very wealthy Thai's I know, don't flash their wealth that much. Their children do, and it's sickening, but often the parents are far more conservative in their displays of wealth. One chap comes to mind, I've had many great times with him, he owns his own helicopter, not a small Robinson but a serious beast, multiple exotic cars, but he's calculating, the cars he's bought have had historical significance, and increase in value, And best of all, he was one of the few people, when down on my arse, I retreated to my wife's village, who fly up to visit and stay with us. The Thai advertising industry can be surprisingly sophisticated, and then again, really dumb. On my three day visit for work to Bangkok, I walked through Kho San road, looking to buy a new Tattoo for one of my nieces, Advertising his work, with a series of large photographs of existing work he'd done was a good selection of fine tattoo workmanship. EXCEPT He had on display, a tattoo that reads on th eback of a lovely young farang girl, who can't see her back to check, "No one can jude me" Hmmm - Maybe she meant you to write "No one can JUDGE me"? On the way to the airport I saw a great huge sign, "Hefeng - Together, we good" But my favourite remains that day in Tesco, and despite the thread about Thai's ripping of Farangs, you have to love Tesco! In Thai language was "Buy 2, get 1 free" In English "Buy 1 get 1 free" See - you can actually have a thread about advertising and THAILAND, why someone would do otherwise is beyond me.
