frogpatrol
For those who make frequent calls to the USA, I just found what appears to be a good site. The site compares several phone cards in terms of price, signal quality, etc. The site is: http://www.thaiconnector.com/c_th.asp I'll try out a few phone cards from the site and let you all know how it goes. (see below post for less than positive experience) froggo
rovineye
I just keep waiting for the province call rip off to come to an end! Over 3 X higher to call Chiang Mai than BKK! ARRRRGH
frogpatrol
Yes, I noticed that - mobiles and provinces really get hit hard, often up to 3-4 times higher than calls to BKK. froggo

rookie
A couple of other sites for comparison: http://www.phonecardonsale.com/ http://www.urtalking.com/ Some rate at above sites are slightly lower as well as quoted price includes the 15% tax. frogpatrol
Rates about 6-10 cents per minute for landline calls to BKK, 17 to 25 cents to mobiles and the provinces. Some have 1 minute roundups and others 3. I suppose I will try the 1 minute roundup cards as my past experience with Thai phone cards has been that about 1 in 7 calls gets dropped, meaning I have to call back. With a 5 second call rounded up to 3 minutes, that can add to the cost. I'll have to check those other sites for prices too - they may be better value. Did try the card yday and today, Y'day no problems, but today a dropped call and no way of calling back as the 1800 # was constantly busy. get what you pay for, I suppose.... froggo

Chuckles
I have always used ThaiTell, they seem good to me and have good rates. Check them out. They have some rechargable cards and per minute rounding. www.thaitell.com
