Coloseum
Would like to enroll a Thai for an intensive course in English. Full time daytime studies. Can someone recommend the right school/university. Am thinking of a topnotch institution.
Guest
At the moment i can think of one called Inlingua..it's in Central Chidlom and some other branchs...teached by Native English speaking... Ohhh..and why don't you try British Coucil (siam square), AUA or British American( if i'm correct with the name)... cheers, Nhu Malee kha ::
samak
inlingua and berlitz are large international schools, which are very expensive, as you pay not only for the teacher but as well for a large administration (and brand, franchise fee etc.). there are a lot of small schools around, where you get the same value for a lower price. gummigut
Samak is right about the price but sometimes you pay for quality and sometimes you just get squat There are so many schools around it just doesn't make sense to travel. If you tell us what areas are very accessible to her than you could get some more direct recommendations. <<burp>>

What is her current level of English? That is important when choosing school. We need more info from you.
whosyourdaddy
British council is about the top. Expensive though.
Stickman
The British Council in Siam Square is generally acknowledged as the best English language school in Bangkok. Assuming she is NOT a bargirl, I would send her there. If she is, you need to rethink where you send her and I would suggest somewhere like Siam Computer. whosyourdaddy
I would condider berlitz in thailand as the bottom of the barrels. Many of thier teachers are not worthy of digging ditches. I have met some of the worst teachers in thailand that call berlitz their home

Again, if she's not a bg, ignore my post: Siam Computer or BCC are appropriate. I would rule out AUA, too hard for them and mix of people there quickly isolates them. Coloseum
"What level of formal education has she been through? Full HS, University?" She's done 2 years in University (SUA). ----------------------------------------------- "What is her current level of English?" I'd say she's intermediate. She's currently at level 6 in AUA. The pace at this school is too slow, looking for another one. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Her office is in the Italthai Tower on Pethbury road and she lives nearby. She works for a Chinese Co. and she communicates with her boss in English. If indeed the British council is my best bet she'd have no problem in getting to Siam Sq. with the BTS from Asok. Can someone give me their website address ? any other recommendations ? Thanks All
