NongSung
At the moment we are planning the festivities for our upcoming marriage in Isaan and we are thinking of throwing a party one would never forget. We want to have an evening with some gigs (a local band, a ?star? performer like Jintara/Nok Noi and a band like Loso as the closing act). So at the moment I?m trying to figure out what that would cost. The starting point was the Grammy website but, and TIT, no replies on my emails (both English & Thai). So basically I?m with my back against the wall. Any ideas where to start & experiences about the costs? Thanks in advance, NongSung
buffalo_bill
NongSung, send me a (return) busticket and you have your singing star performer. You won't forget it. I am often mistakenly adressed as the German Jintera. Bbill, honestly
khunsanuk
Hi, I think Thai3 once mentioned that it would cost roughly 50K Baht to get a famous singer to perform. You might want to PM him, since I am not certain if he reads this sections. Sanuk!
thai3
Grammy are a waste of time, the only way to do it is to go in person 28th floor of grammy gold building 50 asoke. Don't go yourself though as a white face increases the price by 10,000. They do not even return calls in my experience, why that have that website is a mystery. Jintara is master tape and was 50,000 when I asked last year, maybe gone up since then. I have the number for booking her, will PM you-peter
limbo
Peter, 50k, would that inculde the whole production, like PA etc. Or are there other costs, accomodation etc.
Guest
Think you may be lowballing it here. I have a mate married to a Thai Star singer from the past generation. Last year she did a birthday party for a minor Royal and was paid all 1st Class expenses and $5K US for her 3-4 hr performance. Not sure how indicative this is, just a point of reference. Further, a Chinese/Thai in CM had a party for his son a couple of years ago. Serious affair, name bands, 400 guests, stage show, light show etc.......cost for 2 days 150K US. Not limit to what one can spend.
thai3
Not sure but I expect that's the starting price, grammy quoted me 110,000 for Siriporn, Sure audio 50-60 for monsit, fon and master tape 50,000 for jintara. I think this would just be for singing to a backing tape. I know a thai who paid less than 50,000 for a major star to sing at her club and that included dancers. At a concert they may only take 40-50 thousand a night at 100 baht each, so the prices are in line with that. Some singers take far larger amounts at concerts like Nok Noi, so she might be more-peter
