Just as a note to prices. I just inquired the prices for the 1 BR Apartment for my parents in August, and they gave me the these rates:

Super Del. 80 sqm 6,000 4,300 4,000

Grand Del. 90 sqm 6,500 4,750 4,500

These rates are inclusive of :

- American Breakfast

- Maid service

- Linen & towel change

- Fully-equipped kitchen, utensils and tableware

- Electric stove and built-in oven

Interesting alternative to President solitaire. May be worth a try next holiday.

I made an inquiry and the confirmed your prices stated. However, they told me, the prices are subject to a 10% service charge? And guest-policy: No joiner fee, when I check in with a guest. May be, if I politely ask them, they will refrain from this ;)

>"Do u need to walk in front of a reception"

like the ''walk of shame?

Been there just yesterday. Fantastic place! World class!

The room is 75US$, about 60sqm, top class fittings (kitchen as well)...

Yes, to enter, you have to walk through a little lobby where one security guard mans the door (and opens for you) while "captain" is around the lifts.

There was a reception counter along the way but they did not show a slightest interest in neither my friend's gf nor mine.

I would think solo women coming in would be stopped for ID check. Possibly, if one brings different girl every night, that would rise the flag (for ID check) as well.

i usually stay at JW but I am tempted to try Emporium next trip.

My one concern is bathroom

I especially like JW because they have large WELL LIT bathrooms (I wear contact lenses and I need the brighter lighting)

Can you give me some idea of how Emporium's bathrooms are in this regard?

I was not staying there, just visited a friend.

The bathroom was in marble, just glanced into it. Reasonably big.

According to the overall quality of the place, I don't think anything can go wrong with the bathroom.

Some actual stayers may tell more.

>This sounds, I should book in there?

Honestly, if the price is right for you, I would recommend it. It was 3200Bht or so.

There is a sofa as well ( ::).

The room I visited was the smallest one they have on offer but was about 3-4 times biger than a more than average hotel room.

That same room goes for 70K per month.

I am staying there right now. I opted for the 80 sqm room, 41 th floor, balcony, very(!) impressive view over bangkok.

Imo, the rooms are comparable to a 4-star hotel, big, nice kitchen, free internet. The pool, gym and spa are very good too. So, if this place can be had for a USD 100 or less, I think, there is nothing wrong with it. Simply go for it. I rate it over the President Solitaire.
