Helping tg into other countries

Guest

Recommended Posts

I've been asked to "escort" a tg (bg...) into either Hong Kong or Singpore. It's being claimed it's easier for her to get in if I go along as her boyfriend.

What's the real deal here? Any legal crap that could backfire upon me? :o

Much easier for her if you walk up to Immigration together, especially HK or Singapore. Both places give 30 day entry stamps to Thais, but are not real happy about a single young woman coming in. With you along, she will not be required to show money and return or onwards ticket.

No legal liabilities for you. I have never been asked to sign anything.

that is nowadays a big NO.

VERY dangerous. i know a few people who were caught in don muang - long term sentences after the legislation changed a few years ago.

the best way to get yourself into prison here.

another friend accompanied a girl from whose luggage customs pulled out drugs.

and of course some of these girls end up in those countries in indentured situations (not all!)

if you are completely desparate, broke, maybe on the run - do it. if not the potential shit you can get yourself into is not worth the risk.

All-

Totally agree... In my travels I've seen several people who were detained, arrested or deported (or all three!) over simple stuff like "soft" drug posession (if there is such a thing as soft drugs), bogus immigration papers, visa fraud and such forth.....

In today's post-9-11 world I would not even think of doing something like that... While you may want to be helpful or perhaps make a few $$$, I really don't think that the risk/reward ratio is in your favor...

If something goes wrong, you're "out in the wind"....

Your cautions are well taken.

The OP made no mention of being compensated for the "escort" service. I made the assumption (maybe incorrectly) that this was some who was more then a casual acquaintance, making a run into Singapore or HK to reap the (perceived) greener pastures that are available there. The legal crap I thought he would be worried would be his liability if she overstayed her 30 days.

this is rather well organised, and lots of those girls travel on false passports, and many of the accompanying 'boyfriend' posers as well. just the fake passport charge can earn one a 2 year sentence, plus whatever other charges.

many people who approach guys to do that business will tell that there would be no risk, that they will bail you out in case of something going wrong (a few do that actually), but that is just a lot of bullshit.

that was rather risk free 10 to 15 years ago, but not now anymore.

and in those days of computerisation immigrations all over the world will get to know if one was/is involved in that business.

I also know a couple of guys who have done that.

One is in Bangkok awaiting trial on charges that can carry the death penalty.

I know another guy who escorted an Iraqi guy to Japan on an Argentine passport.

When they got there he they were asked to fill in forms and the one that the Iraqi guy got was in Spanish. ::

The guy didn't have a clue what to do.

Then my friend was asked to wait outside. A woman went into the room and came back to my friend and said there was a problem. 'You friend is from Argentina but he can't speak Spanish.'

The Iraqi was deported to Iraq.

When my friend got back to BKK he was paid and offered a free trip to his home country with all expenses included and an extra few grand.... all he had to do was wear a certain pair of tennis shoes.

He declined the offer.

Thanks for the information.

In this case, I'm sure there are no drugs involved nor fake passport. My intention was to help out. If I go ahead and do this, am I breaking any thai laws? I mean travelling with someone isn't a crime. I guess when entering the destination one has to be a little flexible with the truth though...

Don't know. What she does here is illegle, right? What she is planning is illegle, right? And you plan to assist her in this illegle activity? What do you think the law would think about your role? :doah:
