itsmedave
I have a similiar question. On my way back from Cambodia, I noticed that my passport was full of stamps and visa's. As I was a little annoyed that I'd just been forced to pay Cambodia 1200 baht for their lousy visa even though I stayed right on the border at the casino's for 2 days, I decided to rip the little bugger out of my passport to free up space. Their visa's are full page stickers which they paste on your passport. As I had two of them, which both peeled off without much effort, I have have two blank pages in my passport. Thinking about it later, I wasn't sure if I'd made the wisest decision. Can I get in any trouble? I have all the entry and exit stamps, but I don't have the actual visa's anymore. steffi
This brings me to something I noticed whilst leaving Chicago on JAL recently. For the first time ever the airline scanned my passport upon checkin. I've no idea what happened to what information but I was under the impression that immigration in the US didn't track people leaving only arriving. shygye
[color:"green"] I was under the impression that immigration in the US didn't track people leaving only arriving. [/color] Two years ago there were a line of US agents on the jetway questioning people on my flight from DTW to NRT. They seemed to be looking for a middle-age Japanese woman. The Feds can look at the passenger list.
solar
Since the tightened security at LHR, passports are often examined at the check-in desk to see which countries that have been visited recently. I would imagine that a missing page would certainly attract considerable attention.
crofty68
After September 11th & subsequent events, all bets are off.. Have known a few falang dodgies in Thailand to routinely rip out pages for various reasons..not now I'm sure...
Guest
I would think that it is highly likely that it will be noticed by Immigration officials at Don Maung. On my last visit in march, they seemed to be spending more time than usual scrutinising passports before stamping them. Frankly it is much easier just to get a new passport, I'd certainly rather do that than spend a couple of hours answering questions put to me by a stern faced Thai official in a hot stuffy room. To the immigration officers mind if you tear a page out - you have something to hide from him or her.
