Guest
It was not 15 years ago, it was within the last 3 or 4, unless this is a follow-up poll, and we're talking 2 different ones. Go figure. Anybody in here actually live there and can tell us why it rated so high?
Guest
AHA! I found it. April 2001, which was just 2 1/2 years ago. The actual article I can't get to open, but someone else posted the whole list. Nong Khai rated 7 on a list of the top 15 places for retired Americans to live, with #1 being Costa del Sol, Spain, and #15 being Ubud, Bali. Imake no defense, just reporting the facts. Someone thought high enough of the place. Here's the link and the list: http://www.fly-free.com/Homeaway.html 1. Costa del Sol, Spain 2. Cinque Terre, Italy 3. Provence, France 4. Bouquete, Panama 5. St. Vincent and the Grenadines 6. County Clare, Ireland 7. Nong Khai, Thailand 8. Crete, Greece 9. Ambergris Caye, Belize 10. Tunis, Tunisia 11. Algarve, Portugal 12. Cayman Islands 13. San Miquel de Allende, Mexico 14. Pafos, Cyprus 15. Ubud, Bali, Indonesia
Guest
Well 20 years ago, a couple of drunk journalists convinced Time magazine that "The Pub" in Chiang Mai was one of the top 10 bars in the world. hahahahahahaha Don't mean any of it is true.
