Vladican
Hey all, I will be rolling into LOS in a couple days and was wondering if there was any place local I could take my Siemens cell phone too to get the GSM unlocked. That way I can just purchase a GSM card for LOS and use it in my current phone. I was going to go take a look around Pantip to see what turns up. Any thoughts would be cool, Vlad
carlton68
Hi Vlad, sorry, no answer for your question, just a hint for do-it-yourself. recently I bought a Siemens C60 and an USB data-cable to connect/synchronize with the PC. Same cable fitted my sisters A55 which had a lock, and after a little search on the net I found the appropriate tool to unlock her phone. Few minutes later the phone was unlocked and can now be used everywhere. Just make sure you don't buy an original Siemens data cable 'cause these are said to block unlocking (dunno if that's true). Have a look at GSM free There are also lots of ring tones for free, progs to manage your phone via PC (upload the free ring tones, save the phone book etc.), firmware updates and more. Sorry, everything in german. There is an option to switch to englisch but seems not to work.

jp1
That's right. MBK is the place to do it. There are several shops that provide this service and at cheap rate.

Old Hippie
I think The_Numbers had this problem with a Nokia, and was able to solve it with the manufacturer's websight.
