I was last there for Chinese new year 2 years ago...don't recall it being any big deal in my end of town...maybe depends on where you are? I suppose China town is hopping! Last night me and my galpal were headed to Chinatown BKK for the big celeb (but got detoured). May go tonight, since it's Friday I bet there's a party on. Anyway, last night, they held a raffle giving away lots of prizes, gold, methinks cars, too. Grand Prize: a house valued at 5 Million Baht. Must be present to win.
