Prosal
Belem said:City of God is an excellent movie. The best movie I saw last year was Maria Full Of Grace . It was filmed in Columbia(it has English subtitles) and is about a girl who takes a job as a drug mule transporting drugs to the US. Awesome movie! Saw it yesterday. A very good movie indeed ; the first part, till they arrive in NYC, is really intense. Cheers.
Belem
Catalina Sandino Moreno, whose freshness and credibility in the role of a teenage drug mule gives Maria Full of Grace its unforgettable glow, is being talked about as a nominee for best actress. Also, like City of God, Maria Full of Grace could be a dark horse for best picture but will more than likely win for best foreign film.

Prosal
To bring back this good thread to life ..... Who remember the Walter Hill's movie "Streets of Fire", with W.Dafoe, M.Paré ... and Diane Lane ? Re-saw it yesterday with A LOT of pleasure. A true rockn' roll fable, full of good music (Tom Petty, [color:"red"] Blasters[/color] ::, Ry Cooder .... and even the Bob Seger's "Get of of Denver"). Recommanded. The introduction song, "Nowhere fast", with Diane Lane singing, is a Collector !! :: BTW, M.Pare's sister in "Streets of Fire" was one of the main actor of "The Warriors", another Walter Hill's Z movie, highly good also IMO. Prosal
Sayjann I personnaly know very fews asian movies. A list of the main and best asian-directed "Collectors" should be fine and helpful. We don't have enought mega-threads here, hope this one could be one of them. It's cool to bring back "old" movies to life. BTW I searched this week the VERY GOOD John Carpenter's horror movie "In the Mouth of Madness", yet coudn't find it :onfire: !!! Shit !!!

Prosal
Mentors said:there are many .... not so a Romantic list Good list (yet I don't know the two last asian movies) ... As you mention some italian movies, I can add that on my own list, Dario Argento has made some of the scariest movies that have and will EVER be done. IMO !!
