chilli13
Right this is what I believe is typical thai buddhist way of deciding a 'good' wedding date & that'll be based among other things on birthdates, anniversary etc. Sometimes month will be important other times maybe specific date whatever. Don't ask why I know!!
Guest
Whatever it is, IMO, it is not logic. There are a lot of different definitions for the start of a new year: the western one, the Chinese one,... the school year, the university year, the tax year,... the year defined by the birthday, by the first date with the GF,.... Depending on the situation one can use a different definition. All are equally ?logic?. I perceive a lack of flexibility? Best regards
limbo
Jasmine, I really like your attitude by wanting to do things at your convenience. Good on you. However, it's not only marriages that are defined by monks. The monk(s) have a saying when you can move into your new house, when you can start driving around in your ew car etc etc. My wife strongly believes in this stuff since it'll bring bad luck if you don't follow up on these dates. Not always fun though, imagine having to wait 4 months before you can move into your brand new shining house, sitting there unoccupied all these months...........or your car fading colours for a weeks............ Dumsoda
TG logic.....classic oximoron Many years of trying to understand it and I'm not one millimetre closer. When my wife cracks the "sads" and I ask her why she's mad, the classic response is ...I'm not Mad...you make me mad !!!! How can you even remotely bring the word "logic' into the equation !!! Gotta lovem...at least life's never dull...

Very common with Thais, no matter whether you use English or Thai names for the months. Seems to me, this is probably most likely. When discussing months, the wife and stick to the number of the month to make sure we are on the same page [of the calender]. TH
