.. Posted August 3, 2005 Author Report Share Posted August 3, 2005 Not modem, just access point. Two separate things. I upgraded to ADSL2+ router and access point all in one. Ya I could not set it up on my system, but it works fine -- I was abler to get an ad hoc network to work just fine, so the problem was with me, not the harware. Gauranteed not DOA, both pieces. For those outside of LoS, I highly doubt that anyone gives anything away in Farangland; and fo course this stuff will work there too. But I'll prolly donate to a school if no one wants it. elef Posted August 6, 2005 Report Share Posted August 6, 2005 Hi SD, in Sweden they give ADSL-modems away to new customers, but old customers have to pay for replacements. I upgraded my line from 1 to 8 MB and the old modem was to slow so it cost me 499 SEK or 2500 baht. Wirelesses they don't give away free. So I've also an old one suitable for ADSL up to 1 MB and your idea of giving it to a school is good.
