Thailand was never colonialized (we will skip the nice Japan visit in WWII {but between 80,000 and 100,000 died under the Japanese}). So why in Thailand the left side?

Because Myanmar is driving also on the left (or right?, oh, i forget). :dunno:

Remember my first experience driving on the left side of the road on a trip I took to New Zealand back in '97. After landing in Auckland, I retrieved my rental car from Avis and got into congested Auckland traffic. It was defintely a rude awakening. After leaving the Auckland city limits en route to Hamilton to see the Waitomo caves, I got used to it. From there I went to Rotorua, then up to Whangarai and the Bay of Islands before heading back down to Auckland. Once I got back into Auckland, I merely drove like I would in a big city in the US, and the busy traffic didn't faze me.
