Coss
Although I know all about Kreng Jai, it still sneaks up and kicks me in the arse every now and then. We've had a young lady live with us for some years now (3/10 and don't ask sileakhunt ) and she's gonna get married to 2nd Thai boyfriend. Not 1st Thai boyfriend who lives in another city but with whom she spends several weekends a month. So we expect she'll be moving out sooner or later and despite offers of new hubby can stay here, we think she'll go. She's been in NZ for many years now, and is fluent in english and well aware of Farang customs etc. So this morning boxes and such being moved out. "Oh!" I say, "are you leaving?" " I think I am going to tell Pi (mywifeme) I am going." " OK Chock Dee" says me. NO notice, not so much as a "by your leave..." I wonder if it'd ever get into her head that leaving without notice may cause more offence than the act of the leaving itself? Aaargh! - - can't live with them, can't shoot 'em!
