Basically Bush and Cheney are killing muslims and that's fine with lots of Christian folks. Just as the bombers in Bali killing infidels is fine with lots of Muslim folks. It's all the same thing and it's just getting worse and worse.

Jesus prefers to use sophisticated weapons like B.52s and MOABs and gunships. Allah does hijacks and car bombs and beheadings. It's all pretty disgusting really.

Well it's a whole heap of shit over in Iraq thats for sure, but he was correct in what he said chuckwow, currently the Sunnis are targetting the Shia Brothers with the suicude bombings. It is basically Muslims killing muslims, It still seems that most people simply still do not understand the current situation. The allied forces would like nothing more than to be able to get the hell out of dodge.

 

And whilst some may suggest that any terroist reprisals are understandable because the allieds have killed thousands of innocents, there is never any questions of the sunnis who are currently killing thousands of innocents are angry because they have lost power, and that thier leader saddam has gone. Saddam who incidently was the biggest killer of muslims in the histroy of the world, I believe he favoured gas attacks and loved the smell of genocide (against kurdish muslims) in the morning. Although this fact never seems to bother other muslims either.

 

But of course the majority killed directly and indirectly on Bali will be neither muslims or christians, but the peaceful Balinese Hindus

I've noticed Muslims who advocate wearing the hijabs, dislike the decadent ways of the west like to peddle porn in their corner newsagents, infact they have the best selection of porn, usually about 3 or 4 top shelves of more than just mayfair and penthouse, double standards? ::

This is where I get called an anti-American Saddam-lover but you raised a couple of points so here goes.

 

The current mayhem in Iraq is a direct result of the deliberate destruction of the political infrastructure there following the US sanctions and invasion.

 

The gassing of Kurds has a long tradition....the British used to do it. If the Shi-ite/Iranians ever get control of Iraq they will probably be doing it too.

 

Saddam was a 'good-badguy' when he was killing Iranians and nobody cared much when he was killing Shi-ite rebels after the first Gulf War. He did it to stop Iranian influence in the south of Iraq which ironically now (with American help) seems to be coming under Iranian influence again. Much to the regret of the Saudis who fear Iran much more than they ever feared Saddam. Which is why the Saudis, who are Sunni, support the Sunni uprising in Central Iraq.

 

After 911 the US got sucked into something it will never understand IMO. But I don't think those in charge intend to ever leave. They'll just keep adapting their rationale for being there. All the fancy talk about saving the Western world from evil sounds good but the strongest argument has now become 'we can't cut and run.'

 

I won't be posting on this thread anymore (phew! says KS and others). It will surely go the way it always does when the subject comes up (round and round in increasingly personal circles.)

 

One last word about the tactics used by the Iraqi insurgents. Which are basically aimed at making Iraq ungovernable. I'm sure the same tactics would be used by Americans if the US was occupied by an invading army of Arabs/Chinese/Martians/whatever. The occupiers try to divide and rule. The insurgents try to fuck them up.
