Dude_Le_Rude
Great! awesome link! "7 out of 10 important people you plan to see live somewhere near New Nana Hotel Bangkok" best quote of all time!
paul101
They have some great stuff on that site including the pic of silom in the 20's that looks like a country lane. Why is it you never hear of the Rex hotel? that's still there but nobody seems to stay there.
Guest
7 out of 10 important people you plan to see live somewhere near New Nana Hotel Bangkok" best quote of all time! could be the same now, but they hope no one recognized them
BrownFox77
Great links, thanks much. What an exchange rate back then, 20 baht to the US dollar... ('course a dollar was worth quite a bit more in those days).
Damen
I like the reference to the around the clock "Coffee House". :hubba:
Guest
Texascity, I also found the 2Bangkok site interesting. The Grace coffee shop became a stomping ground for the young Vietnam warriors circa the Dec. 1966 bulletin. Also notice that the Thai money was called "ticals" in addition to the baht. I reckon so. Evel_Penivel
The coffee shop of the Grace was legendary in the late 1960's and all through the 1970's, but deteriorated rapidly in the 1980's. Now it's just a portal to hell, nothing there of interest to most mongers.
