sayjann
depends what you call cheap. out of interest and boredom i googled and came up with AirAsia. others Airlines were available but i just looked at one. just inputted flying from Singapore to BKK on Tuesday and returning the next Day. 440 Singapore Dollars which i gather is around 10,500 Bt. or in my currency around £150. is this cheap to you?. i can fly from London to Paris (roughly the same Flight time and distance) for about half the price. and that is travelling BA or Air France. what sort of prices have you found?. i'm interested in what you pay in that part of the World. Grumpy
I'm not positive, but I think you're limited to the 'low cost' carriers - Tiger Airways or Jetstar Asia The Dog already gave you AirAsia Generally the further in advance you can book, the cheaper the fares will be. 15KG luggage limit with Tiger and AirAsia. samak
beside the low cost carrier (with lousy service, no food, no seat assigned etc.) you can get cheap tickets from those European Airlines, which fly to Bangkok as a main destination and then fly with a half empty plane to Singapore as a second destination. beside the mentioned Swiss there are a few others like SAS
hall
If you are able to book well in advance www.jetstarasia.com is the cheapest . I just booked on their website and fare SIN-BKK was Singapore $66.(US$40) travelling May 3 2006. Looked at Airasia,Tiger etc but Jetstar was cheaper and has brand new Airbus aircraft whereas the others are using old Boeing 737-300 aircraft. sayjann
i couldn't be bothered about 'lousy service, no food, no seat assigned etc' when on such a short Flight. not a priorioty to me and all i want is to get to my Destination. by the time i've sat down, had a look at the In-Flight Mag and had a piss than the Flight is normally over. but the OP never mentioned when he might be wanting to travel. different prices at different Airlines at different times of the Year. Grumpy
SIN/BKK carriers (from the Changi Airport web site) -- Tiger Airways Thai Airways International Singapore Airlines Jetstar Asia Air Asia Garuda Indonesia Cathay Pacific Biman Bangladesh Airlines Swiss International Airlines Scandinavian Airlines System Finnair Turkish Airlines It should be noted the fare 'hall' quoted was one way (a May return is SGD66 + SGD45 = SGD111). A March return I randomly picked with Jetstar Asia (assigned seating, 20KG luggage) was SGD191, so around THB4,600 << different prices at different Airlines at different times of the Year. >> Exactly!
