monkey39
There's one that I've had my eye on in Chiang Mai, and I'll have some time during Songkran to visit. Thanks! monkey39

Vintage_Kwai
Yes, a lot of BG's take off home for Songkran. At least, those who can afford it. It's a risky business, having your eye on one. Don't you read Stickman?
Flashermac
If the gal is from Chiang Mai, she'll probably stay there for Songkran. A lot of BGs in CM nowadays are from Isaan though. Even so, she may just stay in CM because it's the biggest Songkran festival in the country. If you are going to CM for Songkran, better book your flight -- and maybe even a room -- well in advance. Lots of folks in Bangkok will be heading up that way and sometimes all of the flights, trains and buses are booked solid weeks in advance.
monkey39
Cool, thanks for the info! I'm going to be in the region for business, but have a few days to spend in between assignments. Besides, I've never been to Thailand during Songkran, should be a treat! monkey39

wonderlust
If you think having ice water thrown at you and down your neck and white paste smeared in your face is a treat, you have different tastes to me.
Flashermac
Hey, it's fun the first time. But after a few Songkrans in Thailand, you have a tendency to think homicidal thoughts ...
Nervous_Dog
I would agree totally about Bangkok, but in the village it's still old fffashionedd and fun, my gallery has some shots, old ladies walk in a large group through the main (and only) street, stopping to wash hands, and steal water pistols sometimes. Bangkok - twice was enough
Guest
What will Patthaya be like? Is there any way to avoid a drenching?
