Thailand confirms 2nd body found in Bangkok is also Japanese+

(Japan Economic Newswire Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge)BANGKOK, April 11_(Kyodo) _ Thai police said Tuesday they have confirmed that two bodies dumped in the Bangkok suburbs last month were those of Japanese visitors.

Last Friday, they identified one body, which has a bullet hole in the nape of the neck, as that of Yoshio Kojima, 53, believed to be from Tokyo.

Tuesday, the police were able to identify the second body, which has three bullet holes in the nape of the neck, as that of Tatsuya Hisagane, 52.

The two Japanese men, identified by their fingerprints, were reported missing in Thailand in late March.

Their bodies were found March 28 dumped at a construction site in the Lam Luk Ka district in Pathum Thani, according to police.

They were wrapped in garbage bags.

The police learned Kojima and Hisagane, who is also believed to be from Tokyo, entered Thailand on March 7 and checked into a hotel on Bangkok's Surawong Road with two other Japanese men who have already left the city.

They said relatives of the missing men claimed they had brought 80 million yen in cash with them on the trip.

Police suspected the murders may involve transnational crime, and Japanese police are scheduled to meet with their Thai counterparts next Tuesday to further investigate the case.

Yakuza???

I was in Baccara last week and sat next to three 20-something Japanese guys who fit the street-level Yakuza enforcer stereotype to a T. They were friendly enough, as those type guys generally are when not "working."

Not saying that they had anything to do with the above (tho' who knows?), just that there seems to be Yakuza here (not surprising).

Or maybe they were just on holiday 555555. :dunno:

Cheers,

SD
