Really good Thai place in San Jose...er I think, called Krueng Thai on WInchester Road, near the "haunted" house. Very good menu selection, and prices, and food! For Mexican...damned near any local place is good, the best ones speak NO English! :) well, a lot of places around here don't speak English actually... :(:)

Give me a PM with your details, and I'll try to meet up with youBTW, some of the best escort agencies, and aparment brothels are in the Santa Clara area...er ah so I hear, I never have to pay for it, so I wouldn't really know...ah yeah, that's it... :)

You'll be staying near Mineta-San Jose International, correct? If so and your time is limited, there are more than enough excellent restaurants in the San Jose area to keep you busy. If you like Mexican cuisine you'll find plenty of local places that aren't bound by corporate formulas and which reflect the rich Hispanic influences of the area.

Ask around when you arrive and you'll quickly find that you have more restaurants on your list than time to sample them.

Guys, thanks very much for your helpful comments. I really appreciate it.

suadam and Bangkoktraveler: Thanks for the tips. I'll keep them in mind.

Old Hippy: Sounds like you know the nooky joints mate. Not that you'd pay for it or anything... Will pm you later.

Flashermac: I promise I will not say the word Frisco again! Just hope the folks there can follow my nasal, vowel-slaughtering Aussie twang of an accent.

liquidfix: I will be based on San Antonio Road, Mountain View. Rght near the airport.

GuyHimmaparn: I'll keep in mind your point about the airport places. I will be putting in 10-12 hour days and the airport is in handy distance.

DCgringo: What? No beetroot on the burgers. I'll just have to bloody well live with it.

Fellas, thanks a lot. I was surprised how many responses I got from the OP. Really appreciate the effort and offers of support. Hope I can meet you all for a beer one day in LOS. First one on me of course.
