You forgot the sauce. The vendor should have sprayed a sauce in your bag of grasshoppers. Most foods would be bland without seasoning.
yyzfarang
I remember my first night ever in LOS September '03.....was at a beer bar in Pattaya and was certainly feeling no pain at all. A local lovely challenged me to eat a cockroach from her recently acquired bag from a food cart so I rose to the challenge. Other than knowing what I was eating, it wasn't all that bad. The next night at the same bar, around about 11:00pm or so I had a genuine "Big Mac Attack" and ran across to the McD's on Beach Road, returned to said bar with a Big Mac Meal and when I offered the same young lady a bite, upon doing so, her look of disgust was beyond that of mine the night before. Will never forget that one!
Emnau
Problem with this is you never know what was used to execute these critters b4 cooking. Some years back is was rumoured that use of DDT was widely used for this purpose...your choice to try your luck or not

Server with kao niow and it was genuinely delicious! Never really enjoyed the deep fried stuff it's quite greasy.
