sayjann Posted December 15, 2006 Report Share Posted December 15, 2006 Hi Phil...... listening to a radio phone-in show earlier today and obviously this story was the main topic. the presenters asked for callers to phone in with their solutions. 2 genuises came up with these 2 ideas. put a curfew on all Men,no Man allowed out on the streets after 4pm. this way every Woman would be safe....... the 2nd idea was that most of these Girls were on the streets because of their drug habit so the solution was to give all the Girls free heroin. that way they could stay at home and get high instead of walking the streets earning cash to pay for it.......what a great idea...... rodin Posted December 15, 2006 Report Share Posted December 15, 2006 Well the idea of making all drugs legal has been around for a long time and is making its way into mainstream culture more often recently. Won't happen in the forseeable future but I can't help but think it would be a very practical solution for far more humane reasons than you mentioned! Most of the problems with drugs are from prohibition plus the fact that surely it shouldn't be up to the goverment to decide what a person does with their own body. Almost as stupid as criminalising suicide. The argumetents for this aren't helped though by the fact they are often put forward by socially inebt hippies and potheads that can't remember the beggining of their sentences by the time they ermmm.
