chuckwoww
Not just fear. Patriotism is a powerful motivating force too. And revenge. After 911 a lot of Americans just wanted to kick raghead ass. Any raghead would do.
DSbadger
Ooch Chuck, but you might be right there. Personally, I can't believe we let him (Bush) go to Iraq in the first place. Anyone here ever hear of " the onion" ? It's kind of like National Lampoon. Anyway, they had this head line back before the war and when Saddam was letting inspectors back in. It read, " Sauddam Hussein enrages Bush with full compliance!" And that is how it looked from here. So Bush goes to war anyway, allows the lutting of Bagdad, loses control of the general population, and then we vote him back in? I can't beleive we did that! Is Iran a threat? Most diffently, even more so than Iraq ever was, but Bush does not know how to handle it and is NOT the person to carry it out. And Hillery isn't either. DSbadger
maybe because they burn our flag every Friday. maybe cause they develop nuclear fuel and donâ??t even have reactor one on the drawing board! Death to America"/"Death to Israel" is not a mere campaign slogan
Bangkoktraveler
Iran is a threat just like Russia was a thread during the [color:blue]'cold war'.[/cold] Interesting, Russia is our friend now and during World War II, when Russia was communistic, they were our allies! War is big business for many businesses. Some people make huge amounts of money over the flow of other people's blood.
cavanami
Fidel, You get people to go along with stupid government by steering the media in that direction. We only know (mostly) what's going on by what is released thru the news media. There are always US war ships in the middle east. The US keeps 20 ~ 30 ships on standby at Diego Garcia, I was there and have been on many of the ships. Plus US bases in places like Bahrain, which is just a hop and a skip acros from Iraq/Iran. The US politicians are up in the ivory towers planning to do whatever they can do to keep their jobs, this is number one priority for them. Way down on their list, they do some token action for the "people" who are now servants to the high and almighty politicians! Somewhere down the line, things got turned around, where the US (maybe other countries also) people now serve the US politicians...it should be the politician serving the people! Wish that was the case. The media started controlling governments a long time ago.
