Stallone detained at Sydney Airport after banned items found

Sydney - Australian customs officers detained Hollywood superstar Sylvester Stallone for several hours at Sydney Airport and confiscated a number of items found in the luggage of his entourage, officials said Saturday.

Customs officials confirmed the 60-year-old action hero, in Australia to promote his sixth and latest "Rocky" movie, was questioned after arriving at Sydney Airport late Friday after luggage X-rays revealed prohibited items.

The officials refused to reveal the nature of the items but the Australian Associated Press news agency said they were believed to include banned body building drugs.

A Customs spokesman said Stallone and his party were questioned about the items, which were held for further examination.

"His party was subjected to normal Customs and quarantine processing," the spokesman said.

"During an x-ray of the group's baggage several prohibited items were located.

"We are holding the items and our investigations are continuing into those items."

Stallone was scheduled to attend the Australia premier of "Rocky Balboa" at an open air screen overlooking Sydney Harbour on Saturday night.
