disproportionate for the least... sometimes it really feels the world needs more dutch lawmakers...

What would the Dutch have given him?

"...Makes his neighbours feel safer though..."

Well, in theory, and maybe reality, they are...or at least their kids are, I mean one less pedophile off the streets is a good thing...isn't it? How would you feel if you had young kids and lived next door to this guy? What penalty should he have gotten? Keep in mind, these children were victimized in the making of these images.

"...Evidence at trial established that Berger possessed numerous videos and photo images of different children, some younger than 10 years old, being subjected to sexual acts with adults and other children..."

We are talking about kids being raped by adults here! ...to me, he got off lucky...well, until the inmates get a hold of him...they tend to have a better system of justice.

I have a confession to make.. All through high-school I found myself attracted to underage girls in school uniforms.

Seriously though, 200 years? That sort of sentence dilutes the whole system I think. So what do we give a serial murderer now? 4000 years?

a few unpaid parking fines - 150 years?

Do they have to bury them in the prison, then move them to a normal graveyard after the 200 years is up?

I think in Netherlands it's not a criminal offense to own such a pics.

You can also get pics and vids of people tortured or murdered on the internet. AFAIK murders if not state backed are largely illegals -don't ask me why though, so many good reasons to tear someone apart- yet owning those vids is fine. Don't see why there should be any difference with paedophile pics.

Fidel, a nice fat pension and secret service protection for life i assume? Just wait untill he starts on Iran then things will get even worse?! I've always wondered how there is so much crime in the USA when so many of the criminals are doing long long sentances. I heard of one guy who got a mandatory 27 year jail term for making one phone call for a friend and thus got himself tied in with a drug deal!

Simie.
