Isn 't this the way the Viet Nam war started...fight over a boat in the wrong place?..

No, the Vietnam War started when the Vietnamese people decided that they wanted to take control of their own destiny without any involvement of colonial powers. This was long before any yank landed in Vietnam.

Its being ratcheted up naively by the Iranians, BBC reporting a link to protestors demaning UN resolutions being withdrawn before releasing them.

MY guess is its one step nearer bombs dropping on Iran, and the mad mullahs don't understand that they are playing right into Bush/Blairs plans.

Irans just another rogue country not fit to exist, why would anyone try and work with these people?.

Neither here nor there who was right or wrong, the image is of Iranians acting outside of international norms, they are not to be trusted on anything and yet they want to have nuclear weapons, if the British deliberatly provoked them, they played right into their hands, but if they were'nt provoked and they really think holding hostages achieves much then they really do deserve whats coming.

UN security council is iminently passing a unanimous anti Iran resolution the clocks ticking!

Yeah, Gulf of Tonkin incident. Which was allegedly a set up.

Can't think how Royal Marines would let themselves get captured unless they wanted to. Or unless they're turning out pussies down at Lympstone nowadays.

Oh, hogwash. The Brits were in rubber boats with outboard motors. The Islamofacists were in Full Metal Gunships. Come on now !

Exactly and it went on until the last yanks ran like little scared rabbits. This was on TV when I was young.

Come, come now. Really. The Yanks had long left before the fall of Saigon. Sorry. Go read your history.
