Old Hippie Posted April 12, 2007 Report Share Posted April 12, 2007 Geraldo was one of the original hosts of the news show 20/20 way back in the late 70's...he was also one of the first, maybe THE first Latinos to be on a prime time network News show. He is/was known for his investigative stories, and his willingness to go the extra mile to get a story, even if reisking his life...he went a bit sensationalist a few years back, and seemed to have lost it on the OJ trial...was decent inn his prime...known to have banged Bette Midler! Geraldo was the most despised TV personality until O'Reilly started spewing garbage. It tells you something about O'Reilly when he can make Geraldo the hero in a debate. For the un initiated he's known for over the top journalism if you can call it that and for doing anything for ratings than good journalsim. One of which was opening the 'Secret Vault of Al Capone' live on tv and then nothing of note was in it. I think he has been trying to redefine his reputation in the last few years.
