colorwolf
for added value, i suggest ading at least one "h" to every syllable, as in: suh-whan-nah-bhumh so much more pleasing to the eyes and ears, though not necesarily easing communications between avarage turista and cabbie... Mentors
Try "Suwiphuum" or say "Sanaam bin", if you come from Pattaya, just say "Flughafen".
ALHOLK
I guess as "Airport" is always understood by the Taxi Drivers My guess is that you have never been to Macao.
Flashermac
<< The name of the airport is ridiculous; the most ridiculous I know of in the world. Unless you have heard it verbally, you have no chance of pronouncing it. >> Sort of like the names of a lot of places in England ...

David99UK
I seem to have hit the jackpot with this question :smirk: At the moment I beleive that Don Muang is only Domestic and the new One (Sjhghgjhggjhgkj)is only international (although I stand to be corrected).......but I can envisage a time when things things change.....or their is a "hilarious" mix up with a Taxi Driver (or one is just being bloody awkward?). Still, not intending too many more trips to the LOS, and in any event I expect that FOR THE FIRST TIME!! I will be escorted to the airport so that should cut out the lingo problems  .......but I do like to be able to get around at least a bit on my own In fact also for the FIRST time she will be meeting me upon arrival at the new airport.......it's almost as if she doesn't trust me not to get "lost" on Sukhumvit enroute to meet her????? :smirk:......and that she thinks I may be tempted at the last moment to go for a newer model
