Dumsoda
Saw a report in yesterday's Melbourne "Age" that quoted Forbes as saying Wacky T is down to his last 300 million (From an estimated 2 Billion before his assets were frozen) Really feel sorry for him....life must be really tough!!! Leave the poor sod alone I visited Mcdonalds whilst in Thailand, the workers certainly seem to enjoy their mcjobs, I wonder if they are aware of the stigma that working at this place causes in the west? Flashermac
The big chains and franchisers in the US are the leading opponents of any rise in the minimum wage. In purchasing power, the minimum wage has actually gone down over the past couple of decades. Screw the proles!
shygye
... but most were paying HIGHER than the minimum wage to attract and keep employees.

Flashermac
My sister worked for a major chain - Circuit City - for around 20 years. And guess what, Circuit City has recently fired all of their long time employees and hired new ones at LOWER wages. Saves having to pay pensions too. Even Hellary spoke out against CC. Fat lot of good is does though.
