She was awarded a Bronze Star for her heroism. Unfortunately for the Army publicity machine, Jessica wouldn't lie. She said she was knocked out when the vehicle she was riding in crashed after being hit by an RPG. And anyway, her M-16 had jammed and she couldn't have fired it if she'd tried. Oops. Is there another article which says exactly what rifle was used? 3 shots sounds like a A2 but I think it's unlikely all 3 would hit that close together if it was in 3 shot mode unless it was extremely close proximity. An assassination by friendlies sounds likely, but it's not outside the realm of possibility that the 3 shots could have been delivered at different times.
