Agree in what you're saying OH, but those examples are a case of the victors writing history. If the actual facts support our side being wrong so be it, the original point remains that there are certain things that happen in all wars, both the just and unjustified wars. That was the point I was making. That one can't say a war is bad or unjust based on something that occurs in all wars. The original reasons are what has to decide if its just.

We agree, but the fact remains, we had a Pearl harbor then (that we may have known was coming) and we had a "second Pearl harbor" (that we may have known was coming) before all this. Thus, the original reasons cannot always decide if history will determine it just, or if was really just from the start.

 

War is usually the of one country bullying another, and or failed diplomacy. In the case of Iraq, I think Hussain was doomed no matter what.
